Groundbreaking News

The biggest thing that has happened to us recently is the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Barney Family Sports Complex. It finally is starting to seem like the end is in sight. Jerry has been working with his dad to get the complex up for about a year now. After a lot of red tape and revisions of the plans, they finally got to the point where they could break ground and hopefully start building shortly. There was a great turnout of family, contractors, architects, city councilmen, etc. They showed off the plans, logos, t-shirts, and hats. Obviously, we can't wait for the doors to open. They hope to have it completed by spring of next year. Jerry has been working on all aspects of getting the complex up and running when the doors open. He has been training at the Arizona Sports Complex at 35th Ave. and Pinnacle Peak. (A long drive, but somebody's got to do it!) He has been learning different systems and preparing to implement those and others into this new sports complex. The website for the complex is http://www.thebfsc.com/. The complex will have 2 indoor soccer fields, with options to play roller hockey, volleyball, basketball, dodgeball, lacrosse, flag football, etc. They also plan to have a pro shop and weight room. Needless to say, we can't wait to open doors. It is taking longer than anticipated, but it will definitely be worth the wait.

It begins . . .

So I finally give in to the Blogging world. It's about time, I guess! Forgive me for the really simple blog. It's my first time and am still learning. Anyways, I figure I'll give a short little synopsis of our family to begin with. I am 20 something really dreading the coming of the big 3, 0! (which Jerry reminds me is coming sooner than later) I currently work for Chili's part-time and also do loan processing for my dad. Jerry is working for his dad and the Barney Family Sports Complex. Which we are hoping to open doors on by next spring. (keep your fingers crossed)Jackson, who will be 4 in November, is a sweet wonderful boy. He loves all kinds of sports, but especially soccer! He's a Barney isn't he! He is really into Transformers right now. He's seen it twice at the theatres and wants to see it every time we go to the movies. I just signed him up for soccer and can't wait to see him start to play. Briana, who will be 2 in September, is a sweetheart, but a little more crazy then her brother. She is pretty fearless sometimes which scares Jerry and I to death at times. She is all girl though and loves to pretend to talk on her phone to "Papa" or "Princesses". She plays with dolls and loves all the Disney princesses. But she won't mind getting down and dirty with her brother to play with cars or tractors. I love my children so much. They are such a joy and I am so proud of them. Wish me luck with the blog and I promise to make it better eventually!
